Space is Big

Galactic civilization is almost inevitable. A Galactic empire is almost impossible. We'll never know until we are cyborgs. But we may run out of plutonium. Revisiting the Fermi Paradox. The two competing models of alien civilizations. Maybe we'll find evidence of dead cultures in their Dyson spheres. Hey look, another theory about the universe.

No, Galactic Civilization is absolutely necessary. For if there is none, then Life has either not arisen Elsewhere, or has destroyed itself -- perhaps as an on-going process. This is a dismal thought, and I am an optimist, so G.C. it must -- must -- be.
