To the Stars

So this week we learned of a joint NASA/DARPA study into the feasibility of a 100-Year Starship. The idea of a generation ship is an old one. Some examples were used in The Starlost, Gene Wolfe's Book of the Long Sun series, the Star Trek episode For the World is Hollow, and I Have Touched the Sky, Wall-E, and Brian Aldiss' Non-Stop.
